Very much ‘work in progress’, the essential modernisation of these nine lifts is phased over three years for budgetary reasons.
When we were first contacted, six of the lift were out of service. Fortunately, considering their use, five were returned to service relatively quickly, however one had been out of service for months due to the unavailability of spares for obsolete parts.
The scheme agreed with the Trust is now out to tender (as at September 2010) and we are looking forward to returning these critical elements of the Hospital back to reliable and efficient service.
