Schmidt Reuter Partner, one of Germany's leading engineering consultants, appointed us to be their specialist lift consultants for this exciting project. The lift provision included six minimalist, circular scenic passenger lifts with removable roof maintenance platforms, scenic vehicle lifts with 3550mm wide, six panel glass doors. These were all designed and installed not only to the high standards of one of the world's greatest architects, but the even more demanding requirements of a client who does not comprehend ‘too expensive’ or ‘never been done’ — "everything in F1 is expensive or hasn't been done before" was the usual response.
Our developed role included the need to ensure that legal requirements were met but without compromising more than absolutely necessary the design boundaries that were constantly being pushed — the result is a near perfect blend of form and function.
